St Thomas A Becket House is the site of a former church in Ettington, the Tower of which is Grade II listed (Historic England List Entry 1382590). The property is bounded by an extensive brick wall which has fallen into significant disrepair over many years primarily due to significant vegetation overgrowth. The work proposed is the repair and where necessary removal and reconstruction of the site's brick boundary walls to reinstate large sections of missing or collapsed wall and address areas of structural damage that present dangerous and unstable sections of wall caused by long term vegetation overgrowth. Where necessary walls will be dismantled, salvaged existing bricks will then be reused to reconstuct the walls using a nhl 3.5 lime mortar. Where additional bricks are required these will be reclaimed bricks. Strip footings to be laid where necessary. Reconstructed sections of wall to be built to 1.6m in height. |
