The southern boundary to Greenbank Cottage, backing onto a public footpath) is in a poor state of repair. The existing boundary is marked by a combination of dilapidated fence panels, low-level chain link fence or overgrown bramble and ivy hedgerows, with the ivy overcoming and killing a number of the boundary trees. An arboriculture survey has categorised the trees adjacent to the boundary (see attachment GB - Southern Boundary Tree Classification.pdf) and the summary of these findings are included in the associated document GB - Existing & Proposed Fencing.pdf. Although all trees within 1m of the fence line are categorised low quality (Category C - BS 5837) it is not proposed to remove any of them and they will only be pruned or lopped accordingly. Scope of Proposed Works The following works will be undertaken Remove all dead trees and dead foliage along the boundary; . Cut back & remove brambles and Ivy elements of the current hedgerow; . Prune, thin and lop, as appropriate, the live trees that are to be retained; . Construct new 1.8m high Feather Boarded Fence, as proposed below. The exact line will dependent on choosing the most suitable line through positions of existing trees to be retained.
